Parade of HomesTM Winners Honored
Local home builder Towles Corp. of S.W. Florida was singled out for the prestigious Grand Diamond Award for receiving the largest number of judging points in the Charlotte-DeSoto Building Industry Association Parade of Homes™. Accepting for Towles Corp. at Tuesday evening awards ceremony were Keith and Laurie Towles. Their Captiva model,341 Monaco Drive in Punta Gorda, was selected as the best in the Parade this year. It competed in the "over $800,000" category of single family homes.
"Overall, builders saw a big jump in traffic through the models this year," reported CDBIA President TJ Thornberry, "I think buyers—especially seasonal residents—are realizing prices are about as low as they’re going to go."
"Our Parade was highlighted by the Showcase Community ‘Vivante by Stock Development’," noted the CDBIA’s Sales and Marketing Council Chairman Gayla Lees, The Real Connection. "Our sponsors really help us make this a major Parade of Homes™ comparable to those held in much larger communities," she added.
Sponsoring the event were Gold Sponsors American Pest Control Management, Inc. and Kinetico Quality Water Systems of SW Florida.

"The Web site will remain up with map locations and descriptions of the model homes throughout the year so that visitors to our area who did not get around to all the homes during the Parade can still visit these models," said Ford. She added, "Plus, now you can compare your votes with those of the panel of judges."
The Charlotte-DeSoto Building Industry Association represents some 400 plus members engaged in home building, remodeling and construction-related activities in Charlotte and DeSoto Counties. CDBIA members must be appropriately licensed and insured. CDBIA members are also members of the Florida Home Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders.
